Other Activities

Here are the other groups and activities that are part of our church life

Look Out Groups
We see these groups as a vital part of the Church for fellowship, study, personal support and growth. The groups meet in peoples homes on a weekday evening. Friends from other churches are welcome to join one of the groups.
Afternoon Tea
These are held on alternate Wednesdays in the lounge at Sutton Close and are an opportunity for residents from Sutton Close to meet together for fellowship and a brief Christian "thought for the day."
Sunday Club
Children are a really important part of our Church family. Each Sunday morning there is something planned for all children. Once a month everyone stays in church for an All-Age service. On the other weeks, after starting in the church, we go out for our own activities in Sunday Club. We use resources from Energize by Urban Saints and from Scripture Union to have age-appropriate activities for all from toddlers up to early teenagers.
First Steps Toddler Group
This group meet during school term time on Tuesdays between 10am & 11.30. Under fives come to enjoy play, craft and refreshments whilst their parents/carers have a drink and an opportunity to meet and chat to people living in the area of Quorn. At the end of the session we tidy up and have songs and a short Bible story. All are welcome. We are currently limiting numbers so please get in touch first if you would like to book a place or go on our waiting list.
Please see here for our current welcome letter with details about the group

Craft and Chat
Why not join us on Wednesday afternoons between 1.30 pm and 3.30 pm (or any time in between). Bring your own craft and enjoy the company of our welcoming group whilst you knit, sew, stitch, or crochet. Any other portable craft would be welcome too!
We find crafting together enjoyable as there is lively conversation and advice is always on hand from one member of the group or another. We work on our own projects and also we pool our efforts to provide many items for local charities to use or sell. We have supported the Leicester Hospitals Charity, Loughborough Town of Sanctuary, Vista, Rainbows and a Children’s Centre in Africa. Items have included baby or toddler cardigans, jumpers, hats and gloves plus adult items such as hats, scarves, blankets and twiddle muffs. If you don’t like craft hobbies then why not join us for the chat!
We are a welcoming bunch of people and complimentary refreshments are offered too. You don’t have to sign up and there is no fee - you can come every week or just drop in – we will be pleased to see you!
Join us on Wednesdays 1.30 pm – 3.30 pm at Quorn Baptist Church – follow the signs on the gate. Latest list of dates here.
It is FREE.

Holiday Club
Together with St. Bartholomew's United Church we run a Children’s Holiday Club in the summer holiday. Although it is mainly aimed at Key Stages 1&2, we find that many older children want to carry on coming. We have loads of fun, including games, stories, challenges and making things, all focussed around a theme based on Bible stories.
Women's Activities
There are regular events and activities held for the women of QBC and their friends. We usually hold one “big” event each term which has included a meal out, craft or themed evenings with a short talk at the end by a Christian speaker. Once a year we hold a retreat day where we are able to spend time getting to know God and each other better. For more details contact the church office – all women are very welcome to join us.
Men@QBC
This is a social group for the men of the church plus our friends and colleagues. We have two or three main events during the year, normally involving food! In addition various activities are arranged from time to time that appeal to a smaller number of guys - usually something of a more sporting nature such as 10 pin bowling, cycling or walking.
